ATTENTION FORMER MILITARY AND CIVILIAN HELICOPTER PILOTS! Haynes Aviation Is accepting resumes for FLOAT pilots for our DAY/NIGHT/NVG, VFR-ONLY helicopter air ambulance program. As a FLOAT pilot, you can schedule your own work-days and work as little or as much as you’d like (minimum of only 5 shifts/month), provided the schedule can accommodate your desired shifts, and provided you stay current and proficient. We also can offer a FULL-TIME/REGULAR position, if you're interested!  We're situated relatively close to the Ft. Novosel/Enterprise/Daleville/Ozark area and have positions available at our Wetumpka, Troy, and Thomasville, Alabama bases (while they last). Pilot housing is provided at all our bases!

We operate primarily in central Alabama providing both scene and inter-hospital services, and occasionally fly to areas in Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi providing inter-hospital transfer services to hospitals in these states. We have some of the most competitive pay and benefits in the industry with current starting FLOAT pay of $450 - $495 for each 12-hour shift (current starting FULL TIME pay is $82,000-$90,000/annually). Job Requirements:
  • Turbine time required
  • Total Flight Time:  2000 hours.
  • Helicopter Time:  1500 hours
  • Total Pilot-in-command: 1000 hours
  • Turbine Time:  500 hours preferred
  • NVG Time:  200 hours preferred
  • Night Unaided Time:  100 hours unaided night as PIC (50 hours of unaided can be substituted for by 100 hours of NVG time, but cannot be reduced below 50 hours of unaided time).
  • Previous HAA &/or Part 135 experience preferred 
  • Commercial rotorcraft certificate
  • Instrument helicopter rating
  • Current 2nd class medical
  • ATP certificate is encouraged
  • Must maintain weight of 225 pounds or less
