WORK HOURS PER WEEK (Typical):  60
 
WORK / R&R ROTATION CYCLE (Days): None
 
SUMMARY:
Train and advise AAF ALOs on air-to-ground integration (AGI), terminal air controller, and ground force commander (GFC) advisor roles and responsibilities as well as submitting target packages in the Afghan National Information Management System (NIMS) in coordination with the intelligence section.
Job Requirements:
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Develop AAF-sustainable ALO on-the-job-training (OJT) programs and instruction.
- Operate in functions similar to a USAF Air Support Operation Group and an intelligence targeting/support cell, but shall be focused on joint planning and integration
function.
- Advise and assist the AAF on Air Mobility Liaison Officer (AMLO) capabilities to augment airdrop delivery and resupply missions.
- Provide mentorship for ALO Continuation Training.
 
REQUIRED NATIONALITY: (Applicant must be a citizen of one of the following Countries)
US, or NATO country
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
 - High school diploma or GED.
 
 
DESIRED EDUCATION:
 - Bachelor of Science
 - Graduate of a Flight Training Program at the Commercial, Instrument Pilot Level
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Prior Experience in at least one of the following roles:
 -Air Liaison Officer (ALO)
 -Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC)
 -Forward Observer (FO)
 -Forward Air Controller (FAC)
 -Attack Air Mission Commander (AH or OH)
 -Attack Flight Lead or fighter Pilot in Command
 
Experience developing targeting packages (NATO, US, or equivalent)
Experience planning attack operations (NATO, US, or equivalent)
Experience creating unit level training schedules (NATO, US, or equivalent)
Experience in a military tactical fighter or attack squadron (NATO, US, or equivalent)
Experience with flight standardization and evaluation (NATO, US, or equivalent)
  
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience as a trainer with the Afghan Air Force (or similar role in another austere location developing host nation capacity)
 
REQUIRED LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:
N/A
 
DESIRED LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:
Military or Civilian Pilot's license
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to independently develop and implement an effects-based targeting program
Ability to effectively manage limited aviation resources on the battlefield
Ability to effectively Coach, Teach, and Mentor foreign (Afghan) forces
Able to work without sitting for up to 8 hours
Able to lift and carry 45 lbs
Able to pass US CENTCOM Physical Fitness Requirements
Able to pass a non-criminal background check from home country
Able and willing to deploy to and reside in Afghanistan and relocate to other FOBs/ operational areas upon request, to include hostile and austere areas
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Willing and able to comply with all theater command policies, regulations and General Orders
 
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to speak Dari or Pashto
