Aurora Flight Sciences is assembling a world-class team to deliver aerospace products and services to commercial and government customers around the world. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to own the product development process and to oversee the execution of our product strategy and roadmap. You will lead the product development process to transition developmental technologies from R&D into products and services. You will work with a multi-disciplined, fast-paced team to develop and manage product roadmaps, manage product business cases, oversee ongoing product development, and in general, guide the creation of successful products. You will understand who the customer is, what their needs are, and you will advocate for the customer to the internal team. You will create support packages aligned to the product roadmap. You will interact closely with customers, business development, strategy, and delivery managers to understand customer and market needs to ensure we are building the right product. You will also interact closely with engineering, test, QA, and manufacturing to ensure we are building the product the right way.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own product vision, product requirements, and product specifications
  • Develop and own product roadmaps with defined releases – understand technical tradeoffs and incremental release costs
  • Develop product features according to customer and market needs
  • Manage development of product business cases and growth models
  • Present and champion product development investments opportunities with leadership, connecting investments to market unlocks and growth
  • Oversee ongoing product development activities working with engineering, manufacturing, and QA to ensure product function verification and validation
  • Work with business development to ensure a product market fit, a successful market entry, and expansion of product lines
  • Manage development of product pricing models
  • Develop and own business tools such as product configurators and quote generators
  • Translate a complex set of possibilities and technical requirements into simple, compelling value propositions for the customer
  • Seek out customer-based discovery opportunities (including field trials, demonstrations, visits, industry days, etc.) to find new areas for innovation or new emerging problems to solve
  • Manage prioritization trade-offs between customer experience, technical feasibility, and business requirements
  • Work with marketing to develop customer-facing material and media
  • Support go-to-market strategy development
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the Aerospace industry
  • Experience with Small UAS technology and product development
  • Direct experience with development and testing of UAS
  • Proven ability to successfully manage complex projects involving technology, business, and customer stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Small UAS aerospace and aviation markets, competition, and customer requirements in depth
  • Proven experience in creating common solutions, launching products
  • Product focused mindset in looking to productize new capabilities by collaborating as needed across organizational regions and business sectors
  • Background in emerging technologies specifically in the aviation/aerospace industry
  • Ability to travel frequently
