Roles and Responsibilities:
Applies an understanding of aerospace and common engineering/scientific principles, processes and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of aerospace systems. Assists in translating user requirements into aerospace system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate aerospace systems, subsystem, and equipment for eventual fielding and deployment. Performs technical/mission analyses of existing and future operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts, and perform technological/trade-off assessments of proposed designs/modifications. Produces or supports development of draft documentation and presentation materials as requested or necessitated by programmatic limits based on cost, schedule, and performance. Analyzes equipment and software deficiencies, make recommendations for equipment and software deficiency corrections, and develop, integrate, and test equipment and software deficiency solutions. Assists the engineering evaluation of prime and subcontractor recommendations for operational and support issues such as: modification proposals, program risk, and related documents. Use tools, such as Solidworks and/or Solidworks Simulation or ANSYS FEA software, to analyze aircraft systems for materials, thermodynamics, heat transfer, structural strength, CFD, fatigue and mechanics Design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, for aerospace products, from conception through production.
Performs materiel solution analyses leading up to design reviews
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information independently and recommending corrective action(s)Performs, as required, an advisory role for program source selections on engineering related requirements.
B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering
At a minimum 5 years working in the aerospace industry designing aircraft parts/systems.
Knowledge of mechanical/structural engineering analysis (Static and Fatigue), mechanical/fluids engineering analysis, mechanical design, design for manufacturing, integration and test
Experience involving flight vehicles
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other standard (Customer specified) applications.Good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independentlyExcellent communications skills; written and verbal
Good problem solving skills
Self-motivated and able to work from a variety of input sourcesDetail oriented
Experience with Solidworks required
Familiarity with ASME 14.1 Drawing standards
