B. General

This is a full time, FLSA exempt position, responsible for avionics support at the Company in support of Technical Services which includes fleet specific avionic projects, maintaining avionic specifications for fleet specific components, providing overall avionic technical support to Aircraft Maintenance and other departments as needed. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of FAR Part 121 and/or FAR Par 145 requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working in a fast paced/dynamic environment. 

C. Duties and Responsibilities

The Engineering Avionics & Systems Specialist reports to the Director of Technical Services with the following duties and responsibilities:
·Coordinates the various assignments and duties relating to avionics fleet support;
·Helps to maintain the fleets electronic databases;
·Supports objectives and develops detailed plans and procedures relating to avionics and provides effective engineering support in compliance with OEM, FAA, and company policies and procedures;
·Reviews incoming related documents related to Avionics such as Service bulletins, Service Letters, Memos and Letters, Airworthiness Documents, and Manufacturers' Technical Data and makes recommendations to maintenance regarding troubleshooting and corrective actions;
·Develops and approves new and existing modifications, repairs, maintenance and overhaul specifications for avionics systems and components;
·Provides support and/or modifies, repairs, and troubleshoots Avionics/Electrical Systems on company aircraft; 
·Provides technical assistance to line station managers/mechanics as requested/required;
·Troubleshoots and repairs deferred or chronic repeater avionics/electrical systems on company aircraft;
·Develops new preventive avionics maintenance procedures and reliability improvement changes in the interest of safety, serviceability, and cost reduction;
·Gives technical advice and makes recommendations to management relative to the avionics matters;
·Maintains currency with industry and aircraft technical developments that pertain to avionics/ engineering practices;
·Works jointly with the company teams to develop solutions for avionics system and component reliability and cost problems;
·Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technical Services or VP Maintenance and Engineering;
Job Requirements:

D. Education, Qualification and Requirements:

·Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate degree in Aerospace Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience required;
·Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) rating preferred;
·Must have at least Five (5) years working in an aircraft maintenance organization that maintains different types of large airplanes (having 10 or more passenger seats) as part of a Part 121 air carrier or Part 145 repair station;
·Must have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible positions in manufacturing, airlines, engineering with three years in powerplants, systems or airframes and one or more years in a supervisory role;
·Familiarity with AMOS or other similar maintenance systems preferred;
·Previous supervisory or leadership experience in managing a team is preferred;
·Demonstrates excellent management, communication skills, professionalism, and positive customer service attitude without compromising quality;
·Ability to communicate effectively; in both oral and written communication;
·Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets the Company’s insurance standards;
·Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC);
·Eligible to work in the United States.
Salary Range: 85,000-$90,000 annual
