B. General

This is a full time, FLSA exempt position, responsible for Powerplant and APU support at the Company in support of Technical Services which includes Powerplant projects, maintaining these specifications for fleet specific components, providing overall powerplant engineering technical support to Aircraft Maintenance and other departments as needed. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of FAR Part 121 and/or FAR Par 145 requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working in a fast paced/dynamic environment.

C. Duties and Responsibilities

The Engineering Powerplant & APU Specialist reports to the Director of Technical Services with the following duties and responsibilities:

·Controls all facets of spare assets to include spare serviceability, quantity and build levels to meet the airline’s requirements for operation;
·Develops and implements policies, methods, and procedures to ensure that company engines build specifications support established performance standards and regulatory requirements;
·Develops and maintain a continuous reporting system of engine performance and cost; 
·Monitors asset build configurations to maximize money spent on refurbishment;
·Make changes to engine maintenance programs based on performance analysis;
·Develops procedures for troubleshooting on-wing engine problems;
·Reviews and analyzes all in flight shutdowns and recommend corrective actions;
·Performs engine conditions monitoring as required to gather performance data to enhance engine on-wing operations;
·Coordinates all engine movements throughout the Companies system to maintain QEC spares to support the fleet;
·Act as a subject matter expert with authorities as identified and defined within the Airline GMM, and GOM;
·Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technical Services or VP Maintenance and Engineering;
Job Requirements:

D. Education, Qualification and Requirements:

·Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate degree in Aerospace Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience required;
·Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) rating preferred;
·Must have at least Five (5) years working in an aircraft maintenance organization that maintains different types of large airplanes (having 10 or more passenger seats) as part of a Part 121 air carrier or Part 145 repair station;
·Must have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible positions in manufacturing, airlines, engineering with three years in powerplants, systems or airframes and one or more years in a supervisory role;
·Familiarity with AMOS or other similar maintenance systems preferred;
·Previous supervisory or leadership experience in managing a team is preferred;
·Demonstrates excellent management, communication skills, professionalism, and positive customer service attitude without compromising quality;
·Ability to communicate effectively; in both oral and written communication;
·Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets the Company’s insurance standards;
·Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC);
·Eligible to work in the United States.
Salary Range: $85,000-$90,000 annual
