(NGTS) is seeking F-35 Contractor Field Team Structures Mechanics based in
Fort Worth, Texas. Northrop Grumman is standing up a DoN F-35 program
CFT operations to cover five total sites throughout the US and the selected
candidate's performance will help Northrop Grumman achieve superior
results on the highly visible F-35 program. The selected candidate
will primarily support the execution of CFT MRO&U operations at Fort
Worth with the potential to cover MCAS Beaufort, NAS Lemoore, MCAS Miramar,
MCAS Cherry Point or MCAS Yuma in the future if the requirements arise.
The selected candidate will lead a
team conducting MRO&U maintenance, inspections, and servicing in support of
Field-Level Modifications and Time Compliance Technical Data (TCTD) maintenance
operations. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the
team follows engineering drawings, technical manuals, and structure repair
manuals in the performance of MRO&U operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing
and conducting work for aircraft low observable (LO) outer mold line structures,
materials and applications. Responsibility scope includes removing LO,
preparing composite or metallic surfaces for coating applications by performing
various operations such as sanding, stripping, applying vacuum, performing
porosity testing, masking and other preparation tasks, then re-applying LO IAW
joint technical data (JTD) and TCTDs.
The selected candidate’s performance
will directly affect Northrop Grumman’s objective of optimizing our role as a
key partner in the F-35 program. This position may require travel to other
Department of Navy CFT locations for extended periods.
High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of aircraft experience Aircraft Sheet Metal/Structures Experience Hands-on working experience in USAF, Navy or Marines structural discipline or equivalent Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) or an FAA certification Must have an Active Secret Clearance or higher (US Citizenship required)
Must be able to successfully complete and pass government required F-35 trainings (Advanced Technical Training and/or Cadre Course) for continued employment
Must be willing to provide temporary support to our other CFT locations at MCAS Beaufort, NAS Lemoore, MCAS Miramar, MCAS Cherry Point, or MCAS Yuma should the need arise
Able to meet the physical demands of this position, including: regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
5th Generation Sheet Metal and Low Observable experience Experience in Low Observable Coatings application Knowledge of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Supply and HAZMAT programs
