Sheetmetal (Structures) Mechanic

Has thorough general knowledge of tools.
Understands how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers.
Selects gauge and type of sheet metal as required by specifications.
Accomplishes intermediate sheet metal repairs, modifications and service bulletins or simple replacements of structural parts.
Must be able to fabricate all parts
Accomplishes repairs of a cosmetic nature in passenger cabin interiors.Disassembles and reassembles aircraft galleys and lavatories.
Identifies fasteners and determines grip lengths required.
Understands and practices correctly basic sealing procedures of aircraft structures.
Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs and smoothes surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools safely.
Must be able to use all tech data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
Experience and education required for consideration:
High school education or G.E.D. preferred.
Three years’ aircraft sheet metal experience.
May or may not have an A&P license
