This is job is at a Depot Level repair facility maintenance on types of aircraft, which include, but not limited to AV-8, C-130, C-2, E-2, EA-6B, F/A-18, H-1, H-53, H-60, MQ-8, P-3, P-8. F-35 and V-22. Military aviation platform experience is a plus.
DutiesShall disassemble, examine, repair, modify, overhaul, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot fuel control systems and components; fuel, oil, and hydraulic pumps; anti-icing valves; and fuel heaters.Shall have knowledge of aircraft hydraulic systems and functions in order to adapt the unit under test/calibration to the test stand by assembling segments of circuitry composed of connectors, fittings, adapters, valves, gauges, and electrical power.Shall be knowledgeable in hydraulic flight control systems to include actuators for flaps, slats, rudders, and ailerons.Shall have knowledge of test stands and test equipment in order to perform periodic inspections to ensure safe and proper usage, accuracy of instrumentation, and good housekeeping.Shall be familiar with Hydraulic Contamination programs, practices, and procedures.Shall be able to use precision measuring devices; optical instruments, microscopes, vernier height and depth gauges, air gauging equipment, micrometers, and dial indicators and be able to record measurements down to .0001"Shall be able to use pressure and differential pressure indicators, fuel flow meters, RPM indicators, temperature indicators, volt meters, amp meters, and water or mercury manometers.Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum 4 years aircraft pneudraulic mechanic experienceA&P license not required but a plusPrefer experience from military fixed wing community or civilian heavy structure backgroundExperience in heavy structure U.S. Military or related FAA or civil aviationMust have Military installation Intermediate and/or DEPOT level maintenance experienceMust be a US CitizenMust have or be able to obtain a secret clearance.We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.
