Job Description:

The Fixed Wing Instructor Pilot conducts academic, and flight training to pilots in a classroom, simulator and aircraft flight environment as required in a C172 and multi-engine aircraft. The Fixed Wing Instructor Pilot is responsible for working with the Section Lead Instructor Pilot and the COO to administer safe and effective flight training to students. This position will advise and assist the Section Lead Instructor Pilot as necessary to successfully and safely complete the various instruction required.  May be required to help develop and execute academic training, flight training, simulator training or any other training as required by the COO or
Section Lead Instructor Pilot to support various programs.  

  • The Fixed Wing Instructor Pilot has the following additional primary responsibilities and duties:  (This list is not all inclusive)
  • Assist and advise the Section Lead Instructor Pilot and COO as required.
  • Assist in managing the course academic and flight schedules for the class they are assigned to stay on schedule.
  • Assist in conducting academic classes and ground and flight briefings to the students as required.
  • Work with the Section Lead Instructor and the COO to schedule additional flight training or simulator training as required for students.
  • Notify the Section Lead Instructor and COO of any potential delays or interruptions to training that will impact the overall graduation schedule.
  • Ensure that the class has a safe, smooth and efficient training environment.  The section lead will work with the COO and the USAF on-site Admin Officer to assist in handling any issues that arise for the students.
  • Vacation and necessary absences are scheduled with the Section Lead Instructor to ensure that absence doesn’t interrupt the training progression.
  • Work closely with the other instructors to ensure there are no conflicts.
  • Assess and recommend each student for advanced skills and solo flights
  • Advise the Section Lead Instructor and the COO of any potential issues that could impact the overall program, not just the individual section(s).
  • Assess and grade each student flown on the tasks and instruction received from the instructor.
  • Ensure the electronic gradebook is filled out correctly at the end of each flight day prior to departure.
  • Assist in preparing graduation materials and setting up facilities for class graduations.

The normal duty period will be Monday through Friday, with daily start/end times varying based upon multiple factors such as weather delays, maintenance delays, Phase of flight, etc..  The duty day will not exceed 12 hours unless expressly approved by the COO.  This duty period does not include transit times to/from the duty location. Every effort will be made to keep duty periods to 10 hours or less if possible.  Weekends may be used to make up lost training, but these will be used sparingly by the COO.  In no case will the instructor fly more than six days in a row without explicit approval of the COO after the appropriate risk assessments are completed. The primary place of duty will be the Georgetown Executive Airport (formerly known as the Georgetown Municipal Airport), but there may be occasions requiring overnight travel away from the primary location.

 
Brunner Aerospace will provide currency training and some differences training to well-qualified candidates.   
Job Requirements:
  • Instructor Pilot Candidates must have at least 1,000 hrs on the platform, a current CFI/CFII, multi-engine instructor, and a current Class 2 or better FAA Medical. Must be comfortable working in a fluid environment to meet contractual obligations. 
  • Must have 100 instructing hours.
  • Must live within driving distance of the location, Georgetown Executive Airport in Central Texas.
  • Starting pay $90,000.00
