The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· Process check requests and expense reports on a regular basis.

· Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices.

· Perform monthly reconciliations.

· Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures.

· Perform data entry associated with accounts payable.

· Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies.

· Address and respond to vendor inquiries.

· Generate reports detailing accounts payable status.

· Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.).

· All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

· 2-3 years’ experience with accounts payable or general accounting.

· Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.

· Strong time management and organizational skills.

· Knowledge of basic accounting principles.

· High degree of attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

· Strong analytic abilities.

Communication skills

· Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to write clear and concise correspondence.

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups to vendors and internal employees.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in MS office applications including word, excel, and Microsoft outlook.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
