The Controller is a hands-on accounting role responsible for supporting financial operations, reporting, and close processes across assigned business functions. This position works closely with the finance team and operational leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely reconciliations, and strong accounting practices.
This role is execution-focused and ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working directly in the details of the general ledger, month-end close, and financial analysis while supporting day-to-day business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Close Oversight
- Reviews and directs the processing of all accounting functions, including cash receipts, disbursements, and daily cash banking requirements.
- Implement automation strategies to reduce non-value-added tasks for the accounting team.
- Perform and review general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and account analysis.
- Maintain accuracy of financial records, account classifications, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze monthly financial results and provide variance explanations.
- Prepare recurring financial reports and assist with leadership reporting needs.
- Monitor expenses and operational costs to ensure alignment with budgets.
Operational Accounting Support
- Partner with internal teams to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Assist with asset tracking, cost monitoring, and process improvements where applicable.
- Support initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Support internal control processes and documentation standards.
- Assist with external audit preparation and requests.
