Through DoD SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes, Sierra Nevada Corporation provides internships to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These internships include up to six months of on-the-job training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.
As an Accountant for SNC, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, and oversee accounts such as accruals, expenses, capital expenditures, and income. You will compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and verify accuracy. You will be responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. You will also assist accounting management in a variety of functions including general ledger support, account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and various other assignments as necessary.As SNCs corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications. Must Haves:
• Bachelors Degree in a related field and typically 0-2 or more years of relevant experience
• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel data analysis and macros
• Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
• Previous exposure to automated accounting systems
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team
