Morson Talent currently have an exciting new position for a Material Requirements Planner (MRP Controller) to join our prestigious Aerospace client based in Yeovil. This role is an ongoing contract role.

Provide the business with a professional level of knowledge, skill, and expertise to maintain a world class scheduling system to ensure business objectives are met by your department. Working in partnership with major stakeholders both within and external to the business, you will deploy your specialist MRP/Provisioning knowledge in challenging, validating and applying judgement in the most cost-effective manner in order to manipulate SAP and/or Optimiza planning data in the most efficient manner for optimising the range of products and services.
YOU WILL:

• Under guidance, amend / update and maintain SAP MRP, including exception messages and Material Master data accurately and promptly.
• Under guidance, create, amend / update and maintain contract scheduled requirements in line with corresponding bills of material and forecasting projections.
• Under guidance, allocate components to ensure best use of company assets in support of all programme objectives ensuring working capital is maximised.
• Utilise Optimiza and SAP inventory methodology to resolve day to day inventory issues on assigned contracts or materials through:
o The control and forecasting of inventory
o Identifying and controlling the cost of inventory
o Ensuring inventory management controls are applied and maintained
o Controlling inventory and optimising financial return to the business and spares availability to the customer.
o Ordering and controlling the delivery of provisioned stock against approved budgets and inventory levels.
• Under guidance, process Purchase Orders for Range Managed parts and Offload Orders
• To place Production Orders for in house manufactured parts and kits, used for onsite and offsite modification and repair embodiments, identify and escalate shortages with forecasts and potential risks to internal customer.
• Under guidance, launch the timely procurement of externally supplied parts and interplant/intercompany materials via a released purchase requisition
• Mitigate and plan the effect of non-conformance on delivery schedules, ensuring prompt action Quality Notification tasking.
• Operate an on loan system to provide assets to rig, A/C programmes etc.
• Assist in the identification of the financial drivers of procurement, distribution and manufacturing/repair plans from an inventory perspective.
• Under guidance identify future forecast requirements into Range Management and Procurement, with consideration of customers spares sales to determine frequent movers.
• To expedite Material Supply Management and assist in the creation of reporting to monitor the performance of the supply chain.
• To take part in Business improvement activities, contribute to stocking policy in the optimisation of product lead time reduction and maximise customer satisfaction.
• Analyse ranges of aircraft data and provide suitable recommendations about all aspects of data management and provisioning.
• To provide technical support on processes and help to train new starters and support best practice in line with the company operating system

Requirements:

• Educated to HNC level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline or demonstrated equivalent competency obtained through experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a material supply or manufacturing environment
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience using SAP within a Material Planning role
• Integrity and professional approach, with credibility at all levels (internal and external)
• Background in an Aerospace or high integrity manufacturing environment
• Complete understanding of how to work to and report budgetary controls
• Knowledge of Company Quality systems
• Computer literate – Company IT systems relevant to Department
• High level customer focus and the ability to anticipate customer needs
• Good communicator with influencing skills (internal and external) and ability to work across functional boundaries
• Proven evidence in planning and delivering projects within deadlines
• Proven ability to priorities/manage tasks under pressure to ensure that the required service level is maintained.

The following are also beneficial knowledge, skill and experience

• Sound understanding of the inputs and configuration of Optimiza
• Good working knowledge of the Optimiza repair module

Hours: 37 hours – Monday to Friday
Overtime – There is opportunity to work overtime per week (up to 10 pre authorised)
This would predominantly be an on-site role
