Job PurposePlan and control approved Security Systems, measures & procedures in order to provide an effective response to current risk analysis and threat assessment in line with Government and Aviation Industry requirements. To monitor the effectiveness of such measures and the security plan by regular evaluations and inspections making such standards and recommendations, as necessary, to constantly achieve improvements.
Job Outline:
- Monitor and recommend technical solutions, security measures and procedures for all Emirates Group facilities to mitigate the threat of unlawful acts towards aircraft, passengers, staff and crew and hinder the smooth operations.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with other departments such as Flight Operations, Ground Handling, Passenger Handling Service etc and as well as Government agencies (DCA, GCAA, Immigration, Airport Police etc.) at the time of incident reporting and red alert situations
- Effective co-ordination between all units of Group Security for smooth and organised network operations, and for executing timely decisions, e.g. co-ordinate with cargo security, airport security team, fraud prevention unit, investigation and administration units for better & clear understanding of issues and provide accurate feedback.
- Operations
- Investigate incidents occurring at relevant areas, which are threats to aircraft, crew, customers and staff and assets of the company and recommend corrective measures so that such similar incidents could be avoided in future.
- Evaluate historical incidents occurring at relevant areas (vis-a-is prevailing risk assessment) which are threats to the civil aviation business, crew, customers and staff and assets of the company and develop security plan which contains recommend measures to protect the business, facilities etc.
- To monitor, evaluate and advise the higher authorities of the company regarding risks, threats, impact of terrorism, security unbalance, social disturbances and political instability in other parts of the world, especially those parts where the company?s operations and business is conducted. This analysis and assessment is also extremely important where the company plans to operate and start new destinations.
- Keeping up to date with IATA, ICAO, ECAC, FAA and other such organisations? activities and rulemaking in developing industry policies and guidelines. To collect, analyse and disseminate security information, keeping in consideration the expanding threats by terrorists and new ideas using latest technologies and know-how against air carriers.
- Evaluate and advise regarding approval of deportees, inadmissible passengers requiring security escorts and authorising their transportation on EK flights keeping in consideration the safety and security of aircraft, passengers, crew, staff and property.

- Assist in the development of proposals, quotations and agreements for the purpose of rendering security services to other International Air Carriers on schedule or on non-schedule basis. To co-ordinate and liaise with legal department in order to review the security contracts / agreements / MOU?s with and of third parties before executing them. - Planning
- Evaluate and advise of the set of appropriate performance and service standards and develop appropriate KPIs at the corporate and departmental levels to track key performance areas for security requirements and facilitation
- Provide project management support to departments as Group Security?s project management.
- Create strong working relationships with other EK Group departments and relevant divisions and liaise with them on corporate security planning matters as appropriate
- Recommend the appropriate technical security solutions to ensure a good balance of facilitation and security, cost effectiveness and system integration in accordance with the Emirates Group Security Policy.
- Develop the basic security plan for the facility or business area which will be continuously reviewed to ensure relevancy in accordance to the prevailing security threat landscape and business requirements
Position is based in Delhi - India
Knowledge/skills:
In-depth knowledge of aviation security e.g. Annex ? 17 of ICAO, IATA?s security regulations, bomb detection and its disposal training, extra ordinary security procedures and measures in case of hijacks, accidents and bomb threats. Knowledge of the functioning of various departments working airside as well as landside. Should have report writing skills.
Proven ability to work independently with minimum amount of supervision and strong written and spoken communication skills. Would be required to maintain close contacts with various departments, air carriers, aviation organisations/associations and government functionaries considering the sensitive nature of the job. Should be level headed, maintain a flexible approach and have rational thinking as recommendations provided in case of threat to aircraft could have grave consequences.
QualificationQualifications & Experience:
Experience in aviation industry exposure of which a minimum of three years should have been at a supervisory level in aviation or operational security.
OR
`A? level education with a minimum of 8 years aviation industry exposure of which a minimum of 5 years should have been at a supervisory level in aviation or operational security.
