Position Summary
Summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our organisation as a Site Accountant within the Finance team at our Shepshed site. We are seeking an individual who possesses experience in both analysis and accounting, is adaptable and who is looking to broaden their experience in a fast-paced environment. We rely on MS Excel extensively in our processes and need someone with advanced Excel knowledge. Experience in financial forecast modelling with Excel is desirable.

Analyse Business Unit’s financial statements, prepare reports and make recommendations to management.
Ensure financial business processes comply with US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as meet Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Generate, forecast and analyse trends in sales, costs and other key business drivers to assist in financial planning.
Participate in the monthly close process by generating various journal entries, preparing required reconciliations, and analytically reviewing specific general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper valuation.
Support the Financial Controller to continuously maintain and improve the internal controls and business processes. Ensure compliance with Parker policies and SOX.
Complete months end close in line with the Division, Group and Corporate time schedule.
Support with Rolling forecasts, annual planning, weekly flash and bridge analysis for the P&L, WIN scorecard and other management reporting.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) with ongoing study.
3+ Years of relevant experience is required.
Good understanding of financial accounting principles (US GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Knowledge of accounting including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and depreciation, basic VAT and tax principles, inter-company transactions.
Financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience in increasingly complex roles.
Experience in preparation of management accounts, journals and balance sheet reconciliations. Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise with changing situations.
Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills to evaluate financial results.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex information to a variety of stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
Experience using accounting or ERP systems
Proactive and willing to learn.
Professional attitude with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
