Location: This position supports both the Tilton and the Franklin locations
Schedule: Monday - Friday: 12pm - 8pm
Compensation: $18.50/h - $20.00/h *dependent on experience*
SUMMARY:
The 6-S Utility Specialist will report to the Sr. Manager of EHS and supports plant operations in both sites by maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in alignment with the Company’s 6-S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety). This role plays a key part in fostering a clean, safe, and efficient work environment that enhances productivity and employee morale.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
•Perform daily 6-S duties across production, maintenance, and warehouse areas.
•Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and materials according to 6-S standards.
•Conduct routine cleaning of floors, machinery, and workstations to ensure safety and order.
•Support teams in sorting and removing scrap, waste, and nonconforming materials.
•Restock and organize cleaning supplies, safety materials, and 6-S stations.
•Assist in labeling, signage, and visual management system upkeep.
•Participate in 6-S audits, corrective action follow-up, and continuous improvement activities.
•Work closely with Supervisors and Team Leads to identify and resolve workplace organization issues. Collaborate effectively across departments to plan and prioritize work.
•Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as required (if certified).
•Support special projects, including event preparation, maintenance shutdowns, and facility improvements. Seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and order.

•Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
•Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, and safety & health evaluations and programs.
•Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
•Must have comfort to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production activity
•Able to perform all physical functions* of position.
•Meet established attendance standards.
•Work off-shift, weekends, or overtime as needed.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
•Willingness to learn and follow safety and 6-S procedures.
•Willingness to obtain powered industrial truck certification preferred.
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards of cleanliness and organization.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Take ownership of assigned areas and tasks.
•Reliable attendance and time management.
•Prior experience in manufacturing, janitorial, or maintenance roles preferred.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S/6S principles preferred.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
