  • The team leads a variety of aspects of Operational Strategy and Reporting efforts. It serves as a resource for analytical needs throughout the Operational division, partnering with leaders and Operational business units to get to root cause analysis as quickly and effectively as possible.
     
What youll do
  • Mine, model, analyze and evaluate data to identify root cause factors impacting reliability.
  • Create, Review, and Communicate Customer Reliability Metrics across all operational teams.  
  • Build Business Intelligence reports to guide leadership to improve the operation with actionable insights.
  • Proactively monitor and track operational performance metrics, and provide regular updates for senior leaders on monthly, quarterly, and annual cadences.
  • Produce gap to goal analysis to explain the reasons and drivers of customer reliability metric failures.  Identify opportunities to close the gaps.  
  • Provide periodic updates on drivers of operational issues and progress made with associated initiatives, to the operating departments and Sr. leaders.
  • Assist in hypothesis development for root cause analysis related to reliability performance.
  • Work collaboratively with various cross-functional teams including hubs, regions and IT.  Develop and implement initiatives that improve operational performance.
  • Partner with IT to productionize new data products.
  • Develop presentations and present findings with recommendations to the operating groups and senior management.
  • Interact with other departments including Network Planning, IT, and IOC.

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelors degree with a quantitative component and prior work experience
  • 3 years of related experience, airline experience is desired

 

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Masters degree with a quantitative component and prior work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant airline experience with some customer-related data experience (customer bookings, customer flown data, PNR data, Reaccom data) is a plus

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Motivated individual with strong passion for airline operations
  •  Ability to structure data flows from scratch with minimal guidance
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and creating complex data products 
  • Understanding of core airline concepts including delays, cancels, bookings/rebookings, and passenger O&D itineraries
  • Flexibility in adapting to new ideas, approaches and in taking feedback from business partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as external contacts
  • Ability to persevere through challenges, shows resourcefulness to get to end goal
  • Demonstrated experience working under tight deadlines
  • Adaptable, comfortable with unstructured work and occasional shifting priorities
  • Works well as a team and knows when/how to ask for help
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting findings to Sr. leaders with a variety of backgrounds
  • Knowledge of data processing/manipulation languages such SQL, R or Python in large database environments
  • Occasional Travel possible (up to ~5 of the time)
