Job Summary
The hybrid Application and Business Analyst is a detail-oriented and technically skilled role. This hybrid role bridges the gap between business needs and technology solutions. An individual in this role will have experience in gathering business requirements, analyzing processes, and supporting enterprise applications to ensure optimal performance, usability, and alignment with organizational goals. This individual will work closely with other members of the Information Technology Team and business stakeholders to customize, configure, and support existing applications required to deliver Cirrus Aircraft business capabilities. This role requires the ability to think systemically, learn new technology and work with evolving requirements and business demands within the context of Cirrus information technology roadmap. This position will be part of the Information Technology team.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Develop understanding of enterprise application software systems such as Product Lifecycle Management System, HRIS, Manufacturing Execution System & Enterprise Resource Planning in collaboration with solution partners.
- Configure or enhance the application system to meet business stakeholder requests.
- Participate in the coordination and functional knowledge transfer of capabilities released with new modules, upgrades, fixes, or new installations for business stakeholders.
- Escalate issues, when necessary, with solution partners, integrates with problem management and performs root cause analysis when necessary.
- Update existing documentation where available, develop new documentation as required.
- Learn new systems and get required training from senior team members as in support of a Dev/Ops model.
- Participate in or conduct user acceptance testing, including assisting in the development of user guides and reference materials.
- Assess business requirements and develop an understanding of business processes through interviews, workshops, or observation
- Document requirements using Agile practices, Traceability Matrix requirements or similar standard tool(s)
- Use analytical thinking to improve or design new business processes; document process design and mapping, including business rules and process flow impacts
- Develop test scenarios and cases for use in singular systems testing (involving only one application)
- Assist business partners with the selection and implementation of new vendors and software
- Partner with the Project Manager, Program Managers, Product Owners and/or the business community to ensure that project deliverables are met, communicate regular status updates, and actively assist in issue resolution and communication
- Document resource requirements and works to support complete project plans
- Applications & Business Analyst 2 Essential Functions (In addition to the above)
- Responsible for application support to the user community for system capabilities fulfilling requests of moderate to high complexity.
- Facilitate the rollout of updates, code deployments, or bug fixes while adhering to Change Management processes to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of enterprise applications.
- Design and build custom solutions from low to medium complexity using existing technologies to bridge the gap between current state and future state processes.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, interpret business needs or objectives, and translate them into process and system requirements.
- Participate in or conduct end user training, including development of user guides and reference materials
- Guide learning and adoption of new technologies through business partnerships
- Serve in the Project Manager role for smaller initiatives
- Maintain relationships with vendors, partner teams, and enterprise customers.
- Review the status of projects and issues with project leadership.
- Develop new processes and procedures to meet current challenges.
- Work independently to analyze and resolve system related problems.

- Bachelors degree Management Information Systems or relevant field of study; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 to 4 years work experience in an enterprise application support, business analyst or development role
- Preference for work experience in a manufacturing/product development/service environment, IT infrastructure/applications development/support delivering IT services to wide variety of business customers.
- Preference for work experience in or sales/marketing/service environment delivering learning management, retail management, point of sale or commerce system
- Familiar with application development standards, software development lifecycle, and working with Agile principles.
- Experience building and maintaining software solutions including ETL, APIs / web services, databases, development, and other methodologies.
- Familiarity with development tools in a Microsoft technology stack
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks and system support situations.
