The Assistant Chief Pilot (Operations) oversees the day-to-day operations of pilots, aircraft and bases. This position involves maintaining compliance with FAA regulations and company policies and exercises operational control. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, the Assistant Chief Pilot (Operations) collaborates with other leaders to cultivate a high-performing pilot team and uphold the highest safety benchmarks.

Leadership Experience
- Proven history of leadership in air medical transport
- Part 135 charter operations, or similar aviation environments
- Includes direct responsibility for operations, regulatory compliance and overseeing operational control in complex, high-stakes environments
- The Assistant Chief Pilot will collaborate with 119 leadership personnel to advance safety initiatives, optimize crew performance, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and flight operations.
Regulatory Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 61, 91, and 135, and experience ensuring compliance with CAMTS, OpSpecs, and company SOPs
Operational Control:
- Experience exercising operational control over flight operations, including scheduling, crew assignments, and safety management systems (SMS) in accordance with Part 135 requirements
Essential Functions
- Monitor and maintain compliance with FAA regulations and company policies for Part 135 operations.
- Regularly review, update, and revise the General Operations Manual (GOM) to reflect current regulations and industry best practices.
- Distribute all changes and updates to pilots, ensuring timely communication and confirmation of receipt.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to verify regulatory adherence and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Chief Pilot to establish and refine safety, efficiency, and compliance procedures.
- Investigate compliance issues, recommend corrective actions, and implement preventative measures.
- Coordinate with Field Operations Managers to ensure staffing, scheduling, and aircraft movements.
- Manage special projects assigned by the Chief Pilot, overseeing their completion within set timelines.
- Manage and oversee Field Operations Managers.
- Maintain organized records and reports, ensuring all documentation required by the FAA is accurate and readily accessible.
