The Associate Cargo Revenue Management Analyst provides the opportunity to understand the fundamentals of Southwest Cargo Revenue Management, develop experience in root cause analysis, and build on Yield and Pricing best practices. Theyll collaborate with the Cargo Revenue Management Team to deliver pricing decisions in assigned markets by providing risk analysis, maximizing capacity, understanding performance, determining market trends, and/or improving the Department&39;s ability to make profitable decisions. The Associate Cargo Revenue Management Analyst is a strategic problem-solver who looks forward to supporting impactful initiatives that drive the future of Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate pricing requests from Sales Managers by analyzing historical trends, Customer behavior, forecast demand, and competitive intelligence to make recommendations within the limits of approved policies and procedures
  • Perform ad-hoc regression testing for core cargo systems
  • Analyze and mitigate pricing exceptions, promotions, and adjustments by assessing the financial risk, impact, and opportunity to provide guidance
  • Demonstrate an understanding of market performance by reviewing trends, yields, and historical performance; monitoring the competitive environment; and staying apprised of all industry issues pertaining to pricing and routing initiatives
  • Execute test cases to assess the condition and quality of software builds, releases, and bug fixes
  • Maximize unit revenue and profit of SWA&39;s Cargo network through management of available capacity, routing options, pricing levels, and reporting processes and practices
  • Perform financial analysis through data preparation and exploratory data analysis to support price execution policies and overall optimization of price management
  • Deliver well-written post-analysis on assigned markets as requested by Leaders
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&39;s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Ability to understand the principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Ability to recognize complex problems and review pertinent information to generate, assess, and implement solutions
  • Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve revenue management problems
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding a relationship among unrelated events
  • Skilled in utilizing MS Office products, with an intermediate level of expertise in MS Excel
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience
  • Entry-level experience; developing skills and knowledge in:
    • Revenue Management, Accounting, Finance, Business or Management Information Systems
    • Data collection and analysis
    • Financial and business risk and impacts

  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $60,050 per year to $66,700 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
