Boeing Commercial Airlines - Fabrication Division in West Jordan, Utah has a need for an Associate BSL Manufacturing Planner.  This position is responsible for composite fabrication of the 787 Horizontal Stabilizer/Vertical Fin and for 737 Door metal fabrication and assembly on 1st shift.

Primary responsibilities will include the following. Maintenance of installation/ADPP plans to ensure content meets process/procedure requirements as well as engineering intent. Response to emergent requests via the Shipside Action Tracker (SAT) system and analyzing/ resolving other manufacturing build related issues through the coordination of all affected support organizations. Support any nonconformance related rework activities. Ensure that all parts, plans and processes are in place for manufacturing to incorporate all rework that is planned according to the disposition of the NCR. Must have the ability to interrogate and interpret engineering requirements. Assist with shop floor and LSCC to develop and implement process improvements.

Knowledge and experience with business systems such as CATIA V5, ENOVIA and additionally experience in PDM, CAPP II, OWI, & NCM is a plus.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Fabrication Division located in West Jordan, Utah. 

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration
  • Assists with development and integration of suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
  • Assists in reviewing supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met
  • Identifies tooling requirements and initiates tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements
  • Assists in tooling dispositions
  • Investigates and resolves manufacturing related issues of limited scope Assists with producibility assessments for part or product designs
  • Assists in providing input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules
  • Develops work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments. Assists in the review, maintenance and monitoring of internal documents
  • Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Blueprint Reading; Change Management; Communication; Complex Problem Solving; Composites; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance; Manufacturing; Materials & Manufacturing: Composites; Materials & Manufacturing: Metals
  • Ability to solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established practices and procedures
  • Experience working with tools and following work instructions
  • Experience reading blueprints, working with manufacturing plans, and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position offers no relocation.

Summary pay range: $56,100 – $75,900
