Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Quality Product Acceptance Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sylmar, CA.

As a member of the Quality Organization at Spectrolab you will be working with a dedicated team of quality professionals that take pride in their work and in supporting efforts to ensure our world class aerospace products conform to the high standards that we expect of ourselves and our customers expect of us as well.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Inspects solar cells, solar panels, searchlights and searchlight components for conformance to requirements

  • Applies standard inspection techniques for product verification including use of various inspection tools, microscope, eye loop, etc. and provides objective evidence of results

  • Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification

  • Prepares Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) books for Product Acceptance

  • Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements

  • Provides objective evidence of results

  • Identifies and documents discrepancies

  • Segregates and controls non-conforming items

  • Performs preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance

  • Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • Experience in Inspection and Inspection Techniques

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment to include knowledge/proficiency with calipers, height and depth gauges, micrometers, microscopes, eye loops, and other measurement tools

  • Experience performing quality processes such as parts testing, data collection and recording production/processing samples

  • Good communication skills to be able to articulate matters clearly both verbally and in writing

  • ISO9001/AS9100 knowledge and experience

  • Experience with semiconductors and/or solar cells

  • Experience with SAP

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Relocation:

Summary pay range: USD $50,150 – $67,850
