Job Summary
The Business Analyst – Airline Domain will serve as a key link between business stakeholders and technology teams to drive initiatives across airline operations. This role involves understanding airline processes, gathering and documenting requirements, evaluating system gaps, and supporting solution design, implementation, and rollout. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, process‑driven, and capable of managing multiple stakeholders across business and IT. This role requires strong domain knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for creating efficient, scalable business solutions that deliver measurable value.
Roles & Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Documentation
- Conduct requirement gathering, feasibility studies, and prepare Business Cases and BRDs
- Perform Gap Analysis between existing airline systems and proposed solutions
- Develop process models, use cases, user stories, and data flow diagrams
- Ensure proper translation of business requirements into functional specifications
Process Improvement & Change Management
- Identify and recommend process improvements and optimization opportunities
- Manage the complete change request lifecycle, ensuring balance between scope, effort, and timelines
- Ensure requirements are documented, version‑controlled, and tracked throughout project lifecycle
Project Coordination & Delivery
- Build high‑level estimates and project timelines with business and tech teams
- Coordinate with remote / offshore development teams
- Support solution implementation, rollout, and hypercare phases
- Provide weekly status updates, highlighting risks, issues, and dependencies
Governance & Customer Success
- Ensure the delivered solution aligns with customer’s technical and functional requirements
- Drive customer success by ensuring realization of intended business benefits
- Develop in‑depth understanding of assigned domains and end‑to‑end workflows
Functional & Domain Skills
- Thorough understanding of airline systems and operational processes
- Experience in implementing end‑to‑end business and technology solutions
- Strong leadership qualities and excellent communication skills
- Highly process‑oriented with a passion for solving complex business challenges
- Ability to align business needs with technology solutions effectively
Must Have Skills
- Strong understanding of airline domain processes (e.g., reservations, operations, customer service, revenue, etc.)
- Experience in requirement gathering, BRD creation, and stakeholder management
- Hands-on expertise in creating process flows, use cases, user stories, and data flow diagrams
- Proven ability to conduct Gap Analysis for systems and processes
- Experience in managing Change Requests (CRs) and requirement lifecycle
- Strong communication, presentation, and cross‑functional coordination skills
- Proficiency with JIRA or similar requirement/Agile tools
- Ability to work with remote / distributed development teams
Good to Have Skills
- Experience in solution implementation within the airline or travel technology sector
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data mapping
- Knowledge of business architecture and workflow optimization
- Experience in preparing high‑level project effort estimates
- Familiarity with UAT planning, testing support, and hypercare activities
Experience
- 2–5 years of overall experience as a Business Analyst
- Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience in the airline industry
- Demonstrated experience working on large‑scale or cross‑functional projects
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Certifications in Business Analysis, Agile, or Project Management are added advantages
