Honeywell is hiring a Business Development executive within the global fire business. This is a unique opportunity as you are one of the first hires to set up a small innovation/incubation team that just focusses on building new software business. You will work closely with people at all levels of the commercial/offering or product organization to help drive our strategy to expand the Connected Life Safety Services platform into our core business. You will be pioneering new innovative data/API products, leveraging our vast data from connected portfolio, especially for fire departments/ dispatch centers. You will work directly for the Software/ HW Product Offering Team, Engineering, who will provide guidance, partnership and be a sounding board for your vision.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your time with Honeywell could be spent in any of the following ways:

•         Leverage your software and workflow experience in Authorities having jurisdictions (AHJs) to shape our new data/API products

•         Share the deep knowledge of compliance across fire industry with the broader team

•         Work closely with offering team in building the right products for AHJs

•         Figure out potential software/ hardware partners that can leverage our products

•         Challenge the status quo of thinking around digital applications to take advantage of our data

•         Work on M&A/ partnership diligence as needed

•         Identify and execute partnership opportunities to grow our data/ API products for various AHJ personas

•         Be key member in decision making of our products vision/ strategy

•         Build a pipeline for actual potential sales

•         Have a program management mindset of tracking potential leads

•         Build the sales process for these new offerings

•         Conduct market research and be a guiding voice to the internal teams

  • Be the tester of our MVP features
  • Develop rapport with key decision makers
  • Maintain client activities in CRM
  • Running outbound campaigns (phone calls, emails, etc.) to create sales opportunities

MUST HAVE:

  • Strong business acumen and ability to illustrate and communicate business value for data projects.
  • Negotiation skills to execute contracts with our customers and potential partners.
  • Experience working with IT teams of customers
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact.

 

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience in compliance software systems such as compliance engine, etc. and unmet needs for AHJs
  • Knowledge around NFPA standards and its enforcement scenarios
  • Knowledge and market trends around ITM (Inspect Test and maintain) and service providers
  • Understanding of coordination / operating process between Local , state , Federal governments as well as private sectors such as insurance providers, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of penetrating this industry
  • Experience with selling software applications, data and APIs.
  • Advanced analytical and root cause problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create pipeline and execute deals
  • Knowledge of buyer persons well in our target segments
