This role ensures that staffing resources, scheduling, and employee movements align with operational demands while maintaining strong collaboration with HR, and the management team. The position plays a key role in collating data on employee performance and attendance, coordinating training and return to work processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements. By anticipating operational challenges and supporting a safe and efficient work environment, the role contributes directly to the delivery of reliable Cargo operations and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities:Develop daily staffing rosters to support operational needs, including executing and adjusting daily operational plans in alignment with the Operations Support Manager.Contribute to short- and medium-term operational planning and implementation.Coordinate long term absences to ensure operational staffing levels remain adequate.Coordinate vacation levels and associated backfill requirements.Review ADP functions, including vacation approvals, allowances, scheduling, and necessary adjustments or authorisations, escalating when appropriate.Monitor time off implications related to shift cycle changes and assignments, ensuring accurate ADP Workforce Manager notifications.Communicate roster and schedule updates directly to employees.Deliver forward looking staffing plans that respond to operational changes while meeting headcount targets and considering costs.Monitor and coordinate Vacation Relief (VR) coverage as necessary.Process Vacation priority form submissions and confirm approvals accordingly.Develop and execute training schedule to ensure all unionised employees meet mandatory and regulatory training requirements.Monitor employee attendance and escalate concerns to the appropriate manager when thresholds in the Company Absence and Sickness Policy are exceeded.Assist in scheduling return to work interviews.Liaise with Operations Support Manager and/or Human Resources regarding specific Occupational Health referrals and related follow up actions.Coordinate with appropriate department on rehabilitation assignments and return to work arrangements.Track and coordinate staff hiring, internal movements, and changes to employee status.Support end to end recruitment activities for LHR Cargo.Ensure safety and security risks are identified, addressed, and escalated appropriately.Support Air Canada station audits and ensure compliance with IOSA, SMS, and other regulatory standards.Support Management in delivering safety, security, and customer service initiatives.Identify safety, security, service, or operational issues and collaborate with the branch Safety team to resolve them while maintaining a strong safety focus.Oversee and coordinate the administration of service awards for Cargo operations at LHR.Other administrative functions as required.
