As a Catering Operations Specialist, you will be responsible to provide 24/7 operational support for global catering operations located in Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) by making time critical decisions in support of smooth catering service operations at base and in the network. Additionally, responsible to ensure timely communication of information to all relevant parties for delivering the customer promise on all services during normal and disrupted operations to maintain catering operations.
Other key responsibilities are:
- Responsible for the activities and actions of the catering team at the IOC such that they add value to the business and ensure the delivery of the catering operational promise.
- Serve as subject matter specialist by providing guidance and support to the catering team on organizational policies through productive analysis and constructive suggestions for operational improvements.
- Examine and recommend changes to improve the quality and efficiency of the daily operational plan and execution of the daily schedule plan such that recurring issues are eradicated.
- Responsible for ensuring the development of all operational SOP’s for on the day performance delivery and robust handover between shifts and execution of responsibilities in a consistent manner so that IOC catering role become the initial focal point for all immediate 24/7 queries regarding catering issues & concerns.
- Responsible for making timely decisions, often without complete information or very little senior-level guidance; such that the operations and business are protected.
- Provide daily operational support and input ensuring smooth running of catering operations despite operational disruptions and changes.
- Responsible for ensuring that decisions and actions taken are tracked and reported to management on regular basis and trends identified are highlighted for resolution. It involve providing operational inputs as required to ensure coordination of all activity between the IOC team and at HQ.
- Support the management in every aspect to ensure the catering operation works within the final departure window, ensuring all QR flights depart on time with the agreed menu, stores, bars and equipment whilst also plan for irregular operations with longer lead times.
- Review, analyse and recommend solutions on issues that have a potential impact on flight delays, service segments, meal plans & staff performance.
- Lead to bridge communication gaps and ensure up-to-date operational and catering procedural information are made available such as new routes, menu launches, events or trials etc. so that catering team can provide accurate direction for all catering product and service related issues that may arise.
- Responsible for ensuring liaison with the IOC management/stakeholders and with internal leadership so that catering teams are fulfilling a valuable role and are seen as being integral part of operational robustness.
- Responsible to resolve operational issues affecting the existing catering schedule and meal patterns.
- Based mostly at the IOC and works closely with other teams within the IOC to ensure to provide the appropriate catering input to support the QR operations worldwide and influence/negotiates issue resolution such that all aspects of the operation is covered.
- Gain specialist input for compliance issues as required whilst ensuring to follow agreed SOPs.
- Support and undertake new projects and other responsibilities of the department as required due to other personnel absence to ensure continued IOC coverage and smooth function of catering operational activities are maintained.

QualificationsAbout You
We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Catering Management Team
- Min. Diploma, Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- 5+ years of experience of managing flight catering operations either in airline or catering suppliers.
- Proven experience of managing operational environments with fast-paced decision-making
- Advanced knowledge of Galley Loading Plans (GLP), Catering Equipment Packing, Menu Specification, HACCP, and the concept of Halal food
- Advanced ability to multi task and prioritize tasks during periods of high operational tempo
- Proven ability to create and execute operational plans to prevent and minimize operational disruptions
- Expert ability to pay attention to details
