Job SummaryAs a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will specialize in Azure with a strong understanding cloud including landing zone, networking, migrations etc and will be a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining the Azure cloud infrastructure for our organization. This role requires expertise in both cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless integration of Azure resources with an emphasis on performance, security, and reliability. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders to understand their needs, architect scalable and reliable cloud solutions, and provide guidance throughout the implementation process.

Key Responsibilities – Day to Day Activities:

  • Implement overall structure of the landing zone based on best practices and organizational requirements.
  • Design, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure solutions with a focus on networking components such as Virtual Networks, Gateways, Subnets, and ExpressRoute.
  • Implement and optimize network security solutions, including Network Security Groups and Azure Firewall.
  • Design, implement & maintian container orchestration platforms on Azure, such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), for managing containerized workloads.
  • Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC) for Azure resources.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts for landing zone, networking components using tools like Terraform, Azure Biceps or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Implement monitoring solutions for both infrastructure and networking components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into scalable and secure cloud architectures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Azure related issues promptly.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900),  Azure Administrator Associate( AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar certifications are a plus.

Experience:

  • Proven hands on experience (5-7 years) in cloud infrastructure management, with expertise in Microsoft Azure.
  • Substantial experience in designing and implementing cloud-based networking solutions, including virtual networks, subnets, and VPNs.
  • Experience in setting up and managing monitoring and logging solutions for cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.

Knowledge :  

  • Proficiency in designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure, AWS.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Azure services across compute, storage, networking, databases, security and cloud landing zones.
  • Strong understanding of containerization concepts, including AKS, Docker containers & Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Terraform, Azure Biceps and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing in cloud environments.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the delivery of information technology solutions & ITIL Processes.

Abilities:

  • Proficient in cloud platforms such as Azure, or AWS Cloud.
  • Experience with configuring and optimizing Azure based cloud networking solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with the specific cloud services relevant to the organization&39;s infrastructure.
  • Depth of skills across a breadth of IT disciplines, processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Incident Management skills to resolve incidents related to the cloud infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to the organization&39;s operations.

Working conditions:

  • Occasional Travel required.  
  • This position is based at Ottawa Logistics Centre but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
  • The possibility is that we also may be able to offer the flexibility for a new team member to work remotely.
