Compass Point Federal an AKIMA Company is hiring a seasoned professional with experience and expertise in Tactical Communications and wireless networking technology in support of the US Army Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) in Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. Candidate should have a expertise in emerging military software defined radios and joint tactical communications systems and knowledge in commercial technologies including mesh and MANET networks, 4G/5G/LTE, Low and Medium Earth Orbit systems, and understanding development of "transport agnostic" user devices and associated data sharing applications. Knowledge in frequency waveforms and positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities and Alternative Navigation.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in Tactical Radios and Software Defined Radios (SDR) and Communication Systems; Network Operations (NETOPS), Waveforms and Data Sharing applications, Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing and Alternative Navigation capabilities; COMSEC/TRANSEC interoperability and sustainment. Focus areas include:
- Tactical Scalable MANET (TSM) and Warrior Robust Enhanced Network (WREN) networks.
- Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) waveform.
- Mobile User Objective System (MUOS).
- Commercial based systems including Low and Medium Earth Orbit systems, mesh and MANET networks, 4G/5G/LTE/Cellular waveforms and Wireless Services.
- Mobile Satellite Services, Wi-Fi Services.
- High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF)/Ultra High Frequency (UHF).
- UHF and L Band SATCOM waveforms.
- Joint and NATO waveforms including Second Generation Anti-jam Tactical UHF Radio for NATO (SATURN) and Link 16.
- NSA-approved TRANSEC Algorithms, COMSEC Algorithms.
- Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR).
- Dismounted Assured PNT System (DAPS) and Mounted Assured PNT System (MAPS).
- Alternate Navigation (ALTNAV) Systems
Expertise in areas pertaining to tactical communications supporting Army and Joint Operations:
- Assured voice and messaging.
- TAK Mobile Apps (ATAK, Win TAK) and TAK Server environment.
- Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) and Low Probability of Detection (LPD).
- Network Operations and Radio Networks planning, configuring, loading and management including management tools such as Joint Enterprise Network Manager (JENM), Joint Tactical Networking Toolkit (J-TNT) and systems supporting Unified Network Operations (UNO).
- Modular Open System Architecture including C5ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and other open architectures that enable hardware and software sharing.
- Application of unmanned systems supporting battlefield communications and networking.
Knowledge and experience in Capability Development and Architecture skills supporting Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) development:
- Basis of Issue development.
- Cost-Benefit Analysis.
- Analysis of Alternatives (AoA).
- Technical Cost Analysis Support.
- Operational Architecture (OA) Development.
- Systems Architecture (SA) Support, Technical Architecture (TA) Support.
Qualifications
- BS in either Information Systems Management, Networking, Telecommunications Management, Communication Systems, Computer Science or, in lieu of a degree, having a minimum of 8 years military experience in tactical communications and tactical operations; possess demonstrated proficiency in communications planning and management, technical analysis, network support.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Independent thinking and decision-making skills.
- Active Secret Clearance with potential for Top Secret (TS) as required.
- Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment with rapidly changing customer requirements.
