Job Description:

The Configuration and Data Manager (CDM) supports the product lifecycle management of internally created Engineering Technical Data Packages (TDP), build-to-print TDPs and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) data deliverables. The CDM operates in a rapid design and development environment with dynamic customer requirements. This position interfaces with multifunctional engineering, ILS, purchasing, logistics, production, maintenance and sustainment departments to maintain the configuration of delivered products, systems and maintain the latest revisions of the quality management systems (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) documents and files.

Duties

  • Execute and direct configuration management activities for programs.
  • Develop and execute program Configuration Management Plans (CMP).
  • Develop configuration management processes.
  • Manage the SolidWorks Product Data Manager (PDM) vault database.
  • Manage the CM document SharePoint Site.
  • Research and document As-Designed versus As-Built baselines.
  • Convene and manage Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Develop Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) and Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) plans.
  • Conduct configuration audits and track audit action items to closure.
  • Create and maintain Configuration Status Accounting Records.
  • Maintain and document baselines, and configuration history of Configuration Item's (CI) and systems.
  • Analyze Engineering Change Requests of product baselines to determine the effect on product CIs.
  • Ensure that only approved changes are implemented.
  • Has the authority and responsibility for providing and limiting access to files and documents.
  • Responsible for maintaining document databases with the most current revisions.
  • Ensures that change requests are initiated, recorded, reviewed, approved, and tracked according to the CMP and lower-level processes.
  • Support design and program reviews as required.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Directly accountable to the Director of Engineering.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • An associate or higher degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years Document and Data Management and Configuration Management experience is required.
  • Experience with configuration management of engineering drawings within a Product Data Manager (PDM) database is required.
  • Experience in management of engineering drawings within SolidWorks PDM is preferred.
  • Experience in creating workflows with SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
  • Proficiency in document management within SharePoint is required.
  • Understanding and experience with EIA-649, EIA-649-1 and MIL-HDBK-61B CM processes is required.
  • Ability to determine lower level and next higher level configuration items (CI) from engineering drawing's parts list (PL) is required.
  • Ability to develop bills of materials (BOM) from engineering drawings is required.
  • Advanced MS Office skills are required.
  • Experience in developing configuration audit plans required.
  • Experience in executing physical configuration audits (PCA) is required.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, leadership and team skills and demonstrated ability to achieve results is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
