Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a EHS Specialist I (Training Program Focal) to join our Environmental Health and Safety Department based in Mobile, AL

As the Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist I (Training Program Focal), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. You will be responsible for crafting, implementing, and leading comprehensive training programs that promote workplace safety and environmental stewardship, prevent accidents, and align with relevant regulations. This is a Mobile Manufacturing Site (MMS) position and will also encompass sites supporting the MMS, including Padgett Switch, RSA, and etc. Collaboration with the North American Occupational Health & Training Manager, EHS Team, and Airbus Health and Safety Academy training initiatives are also within this scope.

Your challenges:
  • Maintain an EHS Training Matrix for the site and ensure EHS Training courses required by the EHS Training Matrix are facilitated, handle training expectations, supervise completion, and recurring sessions as required;

  • Develop and manage the content of all EHS Training courses required by the Training Matrix or to address any hazards on the site

  • Develop dashboard, methods for tracking, & reporting of KPIs monthly, quarterly and annually for EHS training courses assigned in accordance with the EHS Training Matrix

  • Coordinate, develop and prioritize additional training sessions and materials as advised by site leadership

  • Lead EHS training development projects when external support is required

  • Complete training needs assessments when required for hazards in the workplace, including post accident

  • Manage specific EHS training content required for subcontractors in accordance with Contractor Safety Management Policy

  • Develop standards to handle EHS Proficiencies for employees

  • Support EHS internal and external audits by providing data and information pertaining to EHS training courses

  • Supervise the efficiency of training programs through metrics and feedback from participants

  • Ensure EHS training activities are aligned with MyPULSE learning platform for training requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that H&S trainings are aligned with site specific H&S protocols

  • Provide mentorship and support to functional leaders, managers and supervisors on safety-related training topics

  • Participate in relevant policy reviews and development

  • Engage with the business, maintain subject matter expertise & Maintain status as subject matter expert (SME) in the areas of OHS for production and non-production environments;

  • Support third party contracts / service agreements as required

  • Responsible for staying up-to-date on all applicable health and safety standards, associated training requirements and industry standard processes

  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in occupational safety training such as the use of artificial intelligence

  • Spend time in various administrative and operational environments to understand workplace hazards and tailor training needs accordingly

  • Support EHS communications on hazard identification, standard processes, environmental awareness topics.

Your boarding pass:

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor&39;s Degree in industrial and/or Environmental, Health and Safety Engineering or related fields, or certification with 1-3 years of proven experience in an industrial environment.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
  • Proven experience in developing in person and web based occupational safety training programs

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements

  • Board of Certified Safety Professionals Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Position requires knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety laws.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.

  • Ability to maintain and ensure the confidential nature of the position.

  • Passionate about promoting a culture of safety and well-being in the workplace

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
  • Required:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Must display excellent communication and presentation skills.

Travel Required:
  • Some domestic or international travel maybe required annually

Decision Making, Complexity:
  • Define the new standard for all EHS measures as it relates to compliance regulations and internal Airbus values.

  • Directly lead the continuous improvement activities to drive EHS efficiencies throughout the site.
