Summary of Position (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)

  

Works with all levels of management and personnel in AWPC to support implementation of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and company goals. Works under direction of Manager of EHS to:  Achieve EHS objectives and targets; Stay abreast of changes in EHS regulations for specific programs and provide updates to Manager of EHS; Work with Facilities and Department Managers and personnel to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions; Assist with regulatory, facility and Corporate report preparation; Complete Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments and Industrial Hygiene Exposure Assessments; Assist Corporate trainers to develop and present EHS topics; Foster a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout AWPC and raises awareness concerning the EHS program, processes and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

of Time

1.

Assist with the preparation and review and update EHS operational processes and written programs.

2.

Assist with EHS inspections / audits of operations to ensure compliance with applicable EHS laws, regulations and standards.

3.

Perform incident investigations and prepare a report for each incident presenting observations, risk ranking, information from interviews and corrective actions.

4.

Provide technical and administrative support to the AWPC Safety Committee and participate in the monthly meeting.

Review product SDSs and provide guidance to AWPC personnel concerning the procedures for safe proper use of products.

6.

Conduct daily walk-throughs of work areas to assess and evaluate compliance, communicate with personnel and promote EHS program visibility.

7.

Complete qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene exposure assessments to evaluate exposures to chemical, biological and physical agent, as directed by the Manager of EH&S.

8.

Conduct periodic evaluations to assess and maintain facility safety systems, including respiratory protection, eyewashes, automated external defibrillators, downdraft tables and paint booths.

9.

Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments and prepare/revise job safety analyses (JSAs) for facility operations. Annual review of current JSAs.

Support development of EHS training materials and present these training materials to AWPC personnel.

Assist with the preparation and review of internal, regulatory and sustainability corporate reports.

 QUALIFICATIONS:    

         Education

Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety or Health, Industrial 

Hygiene, Environmental Management or related degree from an accredited institution

 

         Experience

3 to 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, with aviation industry experience 

preferred
