We’re looking for a motivated communications professional to join the Business & Brand communications team at Lockheed Martin Space. This senior communications representative will support executive thought leadership, including internal and external engagements for the vice president and general manager of one of our lines of business. The successful candidate should be skilled at collaborating with team members – from a variety of disciplines – to align objectives and priorities to deliver impactful thought leadership opportunities. They should also be excited about developing impactful, compelling narratives that support Space’s strategy and business transformation.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Communications, the person in this role will serve as a project manager and have an impact on the thought leadership strategy for the team in addition to partnering closely with executive leaders to reach key audiences through internal and external reputation-building channels. This position will have the unique opportunity to interact with strategic partners across the company and learn the fundamentals of being a trusted communications advisor for executive leadership. The successful candidate will be a driven, process-oriented, highly organized self-starter who can successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

•Serve as the primary project manager for a key enterprise-wide speaker engagement initiative to promote awareness, alignment and elevate speaking opportunities in and outside of Lockheed Martin.
•Build and execute an annual thought leadership engagement strategy for an executive of an internal line-of-business to deliver brand-shaping narratives and connect them more intentionally with external stakeholders.
•Lead coordination of the Lockheed Martin Space speakers’ bureau, to ensure key principles’ engagements align with business strategy and messaging.
•Work cross-functionally with members of the Space Communications team and key business partners to develop messaging for enterprise-wide narratives that align with the business strategy; helping support speaking opportunities for a variety of executives and spokespeople.
•Craft articles, talking points and other content with a focus on customer priorities and Space’s strategic long-term business goals.
•Manage metrics to inform data-driven decision making.
•Remain agile and responsive to evolving business communications needs, managing multiple workstreams, including but not limited to event support, drafting talking points, social media content, and developing video scripts.

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines: PR, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
•Extensive experience in corporate communications, PR and/or marketing communications.
•Excellent writing and editing skills, including the use of AP Style.
•Excellent project management skills.
•Ability to build both strategic and tactical plans that drive perceptions, deliver key messages and get results.
•Familiarity with a wide variety of communication channels, techniques and emerging technologies, with a natural curiosity that leads to continuous improvement.
•Produce strategic communications that inspire, persuade and motivate key stakeholders.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $71,000 - $136,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
