About the RoleAs a Field Service Technician, you’ll perform essential fieldwork to upgrade and replace existing gas meters, ensuring accuracy, safety, and reliability for local communities. You’ll be trained, equipped, and supported to become proficient in safe gas system operations while earning competitive pay.
This is a first shift, Monday–Friday (5x8s) role with overtime available as needed. Candidates must have a clean driving record, pass an MVR, and complete pre?employment screening.
Projected Project Length: 2+ years
What You’ll DoIn this productivity?based field position, you will:
- Work outdoors for up to 10 hours/day in all weather conditions
- Check existing gas meters, install replacements, and perform final tests
- Replace gas regulators when required
- Collect and document installation data using a handheld device
- Identify abnormal operating conditions and check for gas leaks
- Safely shut down and relight gas appliances
- Turn customer gas supplies on/off safely and correctly
- Use hand tools to remove and install gas meters (up to 30 lbs of force)
- Meet daily installation goals set by the Project Manager
- Interact with customers professionally and courteously
- Maintain strong safety and quality standards at all times
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass:
- Pre?employment MVR
- DOT PHMSA compliant drug screen
- Background check
- Pre?employment assessments
- Ability to pass required OQ training, field evaluations, and obtain certification
- Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with professionalism
- Ability to use basic hand tools with upper?body exertion up to 30 lbs
- Commitment to all driving, safety, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, state, federal, local)
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience in Natural Gas Field Service Operations
- Experience installing or repairing gas meters
- Comfort with mobile technology, software tools, and data entry

Pay Details: $22.00 per hour
