Job Description:

Reports To: Vice President of Operations

CHI Transportation, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate for a Fleet Manager to assist in managing all operations involving the CHI Transportation fleet of vehicles and drivers employed by CHI Transportation. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recommend/make decisions about the types of vehicles to acquire.
  • Maintain vehicle service and inspection records to ensure compliance with manufacturers' servicing schedules or leasing companies’ maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain vehicles in peak operating condition, set up scheduling programs.
  • Minimize downtime and negotiate priority repair schedules with service centers.
  • Regular servicing to ensure that vehicles are available for the maximum period to earn revenue and maintain customer delivery schedules.
  • Ability to travel to all terminals, as required to manage a Multi-State Fleet. 
  • Meet all Truck and Trailer Inspection requirements at the State and Federal level.
  • Responsible for registering and licensing each vehicle and ensuring that licenses are always up to date.
  • Proficient with the rules and regulations for the State of California Air Resource Board (CARB), IRP, and Weight Use Distance for various states the Company is operating in.
  • Maintain records to demonstrate that the fleet operations comply with state laws and the requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the International Fuel Tax Agreement
  • Maintain driver’s files through company used systems and ensure paperwork is completed timely and accurately.
  • Complete State and Federal Weight Use and Tax Reporting.
  • Create and establish fleet policies and procedures for vehicle assignment to replacement cycling, personal use, and accident reporting.
  • Utilize fleet management software to automate the collection and recording of data that enables the ability to monitor vehicle performance and costs.
  • Prepare driver meetings and training, as needed.
  • Oversee proper use of fuel/credit cards.
  • Maintain staffing levels to support needs of company
  • Cover driver shifts as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.  
Job Requirements:
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat required.
  • Demonstrates successful leadership skills.
  • Has the knowledge of environmental cleanup responsibilities.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, work in a dynamic environment, team player, and work independently.
  • Self-starter, with ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Ability to travel with minimal notice.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on Company needs.
