Job Description
The Flight Data Analyst is responsible to the Flight Safety Manager for implementing, maintaining and
continuously improving the Flight Data Analysis and Monitoring Program (FDAP) throughout the organization that includes Hazard Identification, Safety Risk Assessment, Safety Risk Mitigation, Safety/Operational. Reporting and provide assistance and support across the organization, in accordance to applicable regulatory, company, ICAO and IOSA requirements; and ensure continuous compliance to all applicable local and international regulations and standards, as well as AirAsia Aviation Group Limited requirements.
Ensure, at the same time assist and support Group and AOCs to: • oversees the implementation of all activities and processes associated with the FDAP
• provide assistance to Chief Safety Officer in establishing FDAP objectives
• ensure that safety information derived from the FDAP is effectively communicated throughout
management and non-management operations personnel • facilitate, maintain and review the effectiveness of the FDAP in identifying operational and safety
hazards
• manage the FDAP team comprising of other Flight Data Analyst • review the FDAP Manual to ensure currency and applicability in accordance to regulatory
requirements
• act as Point of Contact when communicating flight data matters with other departments of the
organization and service providers, and
• maintain and protect data confidentiality and security within the FDAP team and any other relevant
operational disciplines of the organization.
• Assist Flight Safety Manager in Flight Data Analysis or Management related matters as and when
necessary.
Traits
- Sound knowledge of the organization’s operations, procedures and activities
- Broad aviation technical knowledge • An extensive knowledge of safety management systems (SMS) and have completed appropriate
- SMS training
- An understanding of risk management principles and techniques to support SMS
- Experience implementing and/or managing SMS
- Experience and qualifications in aviation accident/incident investigation and human factors
- Experience and qualifications in conducting safety/quality audits and inspections
- Sound knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks, including ICAO Standards and Recommended
- Practices (SARPS) and relevant civil aviation regulations
- The ability to communicate at all levels both inside and outside the company
- The ability to be firm in conviction, promote a just and fair culture‖ and yet advance an open and
nonpunitive atmosphere for reporting - The ability and confidence to communicate directly to the head of department as his advisor and
confidante - Well-developed communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills of a high order, with the
ability to liaise with a variety of individuals and organizational representatives, including those from
differing cultural backgrounds - Computer literacy and superior analytical skills
Minimum working experience: - 2 years as Flight Data Analyst, safety, security, audit or risk management with any AirAsia or AirAsia X Group of airlines (management experience will be added advantage).
- Minimum 6 months as SAG with any AirAsia or AirAsia X Group of airlines.
- Experience in aviation safety, especially in Flight Data, and/or in the capacity of an aviation safety
investigator, safety/quality manager or safety risk
