Air New Zealand is one of the worlds leading airlines, known around the world, not just for our name and our innovation, but also for our reputation. Right now we have an exciting opportunity for a Flight Safety Specialist to join our Operational Integrity and Safety team (OI&S).  

As a Flight Safety Specialist, you will:

  • Identify operational-related flight safety threats to the companys operation and therefore help to mitigate any risks to the business
  • Conduct, coordinate and manage flight safety investigations & audits
  • Analyse operational flight safety related occurrences
  • Recommend improvements to operational integrity techniques, processes and company systems
  • Support promotion of flight safety related initiatives and activities through engagement with key stakeholders
  • Support development of flight safety training and communication throughout the business
  • Support the growth of Air New Zealands Safety and Reporting Culture including the application of Just Culture principles.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience of (ideally airline) multi-crew pilot operations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills, as the success of this role is dependent on working collaboratively with stakeholders
  • An understanding of SMS and risk management
  • A knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks and/or other areas of compliance.
