Role Summary

Alaska Airlines is seeking a Flight Training Scheduler for the Flight Training Scheduling Team. This team is responsible for training scheduling for our Pilots in compliance with the FAA and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and the departments standard operating procedures.

Key Duties

  • The entry level (Professional 1) role solves and monitors the day-to-day pilot training operation by scheduling various aspects of pilot training, while complying with all policies, rules, and regulations for Alaska Air. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on and supports flight training scheduling for Alaska Airlines.

  • The intermediate level (Professional 2) role is responsible for developing solutions to manage yearly currency and utilization requirements for the instructors to assure that there is strict compliance to all rules, policies and regulations for training scheduling at Alaska Air. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve flight training scheduling plans and build efficient instructor schedules and manage instructor resource needs each month.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Entry Level (Professional 1)

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration or relevant area, or 2 years of experience in related area in lieu of this degree.

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to bring forward innovative ideas to promote the success of the department, the division, and the company.

  • Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to work a rotational schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Intermediate Level (Professional 2)

Required

  • 2 years of experience in flight training scheduling or relevant area.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule (e.g., evenings, weekends, holidays).

  • Excellent customer service and follow-through skills.

  • Working knowledge of the Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement and Flight Operation Training Manual.

  • Possess a strong sense of Alaska Spirit to bring forward innovative ideas to promote the success of the department, the division, and the company.

  • Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).

  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Range

$60,400-$95,000 / year

Pay Details

Flight Training Scheduler I (P1): $60,400.00 - $84,600.00

Flight Training Scheduler II (P2):$ 63,400.00 - $95,000.00

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors,includingand not limited to relevant experience/level, level of the role and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We dont typically hire at the top of the range.
