We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resource Assistant to join our HR team. We need an HR Assistant who will jump in and help where needed in the department, while having a profoundly positive impact on our current employees. You will support daily HR activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in various HR functions.
As an HR Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to the HR department. Your role is vital in facilitating smooth HR operations by assisting with employee records maintenance, payroll and benefits support, onboarding activities, and responding to daily HR inquiries. You will contribute to multiple facets of the human resource department, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of HR services.
A day in the life:
Maintain and update comprehensive employee records accurately, including personal data, employment status, and compliance documentation.
Ability to serve as the first point of contact for HR-related emails, phone calls, and inquiries – responsible for receiving, screening, and directing communications promptly to the appropriate HR team member.
Support onboarding by coordinating new hire orientations alongside the HR Generalist.
Assist payroll processing by verifying timesheets, updating employee pay records, and addressing payroll related inquiries with the Payroll Specialist.
Aid benefits administration by assisting employees with benefit enrollment, answering questions, and communicating benefit changes under the guidance of the Benefits Specialist.
Help ensure adherence to applicable labor laws and HR policies through accurate documentation and record-keeping.
Provide administrative support to the department with their respective tasks and projects.
Support benefits administration by assisting employees with inquiries, enrollment and communicating benefit information.
Maintain compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
Assist the Human Resource Manager with special projects as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and support various stakeholders simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and employees.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information discreetly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and strong record-keeping abilities.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing actively to a team setting.
Ability and willingness to learn new systems, processes, and evolving industry regulations.
Flexibility to travel occasionally and work outside standard business hours (evenings, weekends) as needed.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Valid Driver’s License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field preferred.
Proven experience in administrative support, ideally within an HR environment supporting multiple HR functions.
Previous experience in healthcare and/or aviation.
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
