Position Summary: The Business Systems Analyst will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Responsible for supporting and improving business systems while also providing hands-on technical support across IT infrastructure, networking, hardware, software, and virtual environments.
This includes troubleshooting and developing solutions to business problems, operational area consulting, systems architectures, project management and implementation evaluation.
The position bridges business applications and core IT infrastructure. While maintaining knowledge of current information technology and business requirements to recommend solutions consistent with company and departmental objectives.
The position requires extensive interaction with business systems, user community and IT staff. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of professional IT experience, a solid technical foundation, and a strong interest in continuing development toward network administration, infrastructure, and security responsibilities.
Essential Functions: - Provide advanced end-user and system support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and operational or shop-floor systems.
- Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and enterprise software applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across systems and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
- Provide hands-on support for IT infrastructure including:
- Physical and virtual servers
- Virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
- SAN and NAS storage systems
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Support and troubleshoot network components including:
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
- VLANs, routing concepts, and basic network design
- Assist with firewall administration, network security controls, and access management.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, network changes, and security initiatives
- Apply broad working knowledge of system standards, technologies, and methodologies to the definition and implementation of business systems or functions.
- Participate in IT projects including planning, testing, implementation, and validation.
- Assist with task tracking, timelines, documentation, and change management.
- Follow IT standards, procedures, and security best practices.
- Provide off-shift or weekend support as needed in an operational or manufacturing environment.
- Document implemented systems to include a reference manual for the system and business practices/procedures.
- Define issues, develops alternatives, determine impacts, and makes recommendations.
Required Skills: - Demonstrated ability to stay current with technology and maintains knowledge plus learn new technology quickly.
- Continuously available to support business needs with a sense of urgency including off-shift and weekend support.
- 2–4 years of experience in IT systems, infrastructure, or enterprise technical support roles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Windows desktop and/or server environments
- Hardware and software troubleshooting in an enterprise setting
- Working knowledge of:
- Networking fundamentals
- Switches, VLANs, and basic routing
- Virtual servers and virtualization platforms
- SAN and NAS storage concepts
- Experience supporting or working with:
- Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Enterprise applications or ERP systems
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Experience & Education: - Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field. BS degree preferred.
- Relevant IT certifications or specialized training related to manufacturing and engineering a plus.
- Two years of experience working in IT operations with a firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Visio, Microsoft Project,
- Experience with Enterprise reporting tools (Power BI preferred), VB6, C, SQL (plus but not required)
