Job Summary

The ACAA’s Business Analyst reports directly to the Director, Business Applications and supports a specific business area (Operations, Finance, etc.) and the related IT business applications used to support the key business processes in that area. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, with a focus on supporting the implementation and optimization of business processes in ERP platforms. This position is engaged in on-going production maintenance, project support and enhancements involving all stages of application life cycle development and related inbound and outbound integrations.   The Analyst is expected to act as a liaison with business customers, possessing both functional and technical skills and knowledge. Interaction and communication with the end-user community and other IT groups/Vendors is a key function in production support activities as well as being an application lead in support of projects and enhancements.

 

Here is how the IT Business Analyst will help:  

  • Support day-to-day operations, projects, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Business and system support of relevant business application for their designated business area
  • Business process analysis and design.
  • Configuration of IT business applications to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate internally with all IT groups (Infrastructure, Integration, BI, and other Applications) to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of integrations and application environments.
  • Gather business requirements, create functional specifications, create and manage test plans. 
  • Work in conjunction with 3rd party support vendors/personnel.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to expand knowledge and capabilities in support of the business area.
  • Accountable to deliver on production support Service level Agreements
  • Responsible for issue resolution and root cause analysis. Assist in developing permanent solutions to persistent application or integration issues/problems.
  • Maintain Help Desk tickets.
  • Effectively interact with the end users to understand the nature and significance of application issues, conveying solutions, and monitoring the execution and results of user-acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Adhere to Change Control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with PMO on project priorities and project execution.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

The preferred qualifications to apply for role of IT Business Analyst are:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, computer science or equivalent experience. 
  • 2-3 years’ experience with business analysis and process improvement concepts.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to build solid relationships with business partners, documenting requirements and guiding them on the value of IT applications.
  • Deep understanding of business processes, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams building solid relationships, documenting requirements and guiding them on the IT business applications
  • Broad understanding and hands on support, development, and configuration of IT business applications preferred 
  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.  Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.

 

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:  

  • Working knowledge of IT applications and processes including ERP, CRM, HR, operations and maintenance systems e.g. (Concur, DocuSign, JDE, Microsoft O365, Workday, ServiceNow are preferred) 
  • Extensive knowledge of IT applications and processes including ERP, CRM, HR, operations and maintenance systems. 
  • Ability to analyze, consolidate and communicate technical concepts to all levels effectively in verbal and written form;
  • Ability to document business requirements, and technical and interface specifications.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable operations, development, and related technical specialties.
  • Specific knowledge of finance processes, preferably in a fund accounting environment.
