As the IT Systems Support Administrator, you will be reporting directly to the HO System Design, providing support to up to 3rd Line to circa 50 local IT users and assist in the development of solutions with supplier support teams for a number of CIS capabilities that underpin testing and assessment of MOD deployable communications.

The operations output you are supporting is a very niche, interesting part of the business, delivering systems that are internally built
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
The role is to manage on premise CIS, servers, storage devices and network connections to ensure high availability and security of the test and support capabilities.
You will also participate in the planning and implementation of upgrades to ensure the continued development of the capabilities.
Responsible for the delivery and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of network infrastructures, including switching, routing and firewall equipment.
Manage, build and deploy virtual and physical servers (VMware) delivering assured and secure user services.
Manage Active Directory, EPO, management and client deployment.
Server and workstation image management using SCCM.
Have familiarity with MS SQL server, windows clustering, domain controller setup, and group policy.
Building workstations, laptops, VDIs, and building specified disk builds.
Managing the backup and recovery of VDI Gold Images, Virtual Servers or file data.
ABOUT YOU
You will be someone who has operated at a 3rd Line level in a similar environment
You will also be fluent with Windows networking, advanced desktop support, and have experience in:
Microsoft Operating Systems, including Windows 10 and Server 2019.
Active Directory including Microsoft Certificate Services.
Endpoint protection and software updates via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
SQL Server 2017 and 2019.
Microsoft Exchange 2016 onwards.
Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare VSphere and Horizon
