LAUNCH OPERATIONS ANALYST (FALCON)

The Launch Operations Analyst will support the Falcon operations teams by providing analysis and scheduling guidance for flight and ground hardware. Their primary responsibility will be planning for robust, long-term launch hardware strategies that enable fast-paced operations to be carried out with no downtime or impact to launch manifest. They must be comfortable working and communicating with many stakeholders across the enterprise including production, vehicle maintenance, vehicle integration, and engineering teams. They will need to have experience coordinating movement of critical flight and ground hardware across multiple facilities and possess a strong understanding of Falcon maintenance, launch vehicle integration, and runway operations. The Launch Operations Analyst will ensure a steady stream of hardware to support optimal execution of SpaceXs growing mission manifest.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze data and information to accelerate launch hardware (flight and ground) schedules while minimizing operational downtime
  • Create, maintain, and communicate detailed reports that forecast potential hardware (flight and ground) bottlenecks, and work closely with stakeholders to develop mitigations
  • Provide daily visibility, weekly status, and monthly reviews on forecasted versus actual performance to leadership, and provide guidance/re-direction as required to hit target goals
  • Provide tactical and strategic hardware scheduling guidance to Falcon operational teams and leadership
  • Work closely with stakeholders to create tools that identify upcoming hardware shortages and schedule risks
  • Work cross-functionally with leadership teams across the business to ensure the Falcon team is optimized for overall success
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or STEM discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in an operations analyst, production coordination, scheduling, or planning role
  • 2+ years of professional experience with Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, or Primavera

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree
  • Certification in project management, supply chain management, material cost control, or production scheduling
  • 2+ years of professional experience with SQL, Python, or R
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an ambiguous, dynamic, fast-paced environment while multitasking and prioritizing work during simultaneous projects
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • PMP, LSSGB, or CBAP certified
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiencies

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg
  • Willing to travel to other SpaceX sites, as needed
  • Willingness to work outdoors
  • Ability to be flexible given schedules vary due to site operational needs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Launch Operations Analyst/Level I: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year
Launch Operations Analyst/Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
