The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to join the team in Berkeley, MO!

As an environmental compliance focal, the selected candidate will work with the St. Louis Region Environmental Management team across multiple environmental subject areas (for example, air quality, stormwater, hazardous waste, solid waste, industrial wastewater, spill prevention, underground storage tanks), and supports conservation/sustainability initiatives in addition to regulatory compliance. The position will involve some local travel as the team supports several sites in the St. Louis Region.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development, implements, and monitors environmental management systems, processes and programs
  • Works with others to assess the impact of emerging environmental issues, legislation and regulations on company operations
  • Supports site interface with relevant regulatory agencies

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience with environmental compliance and environmental program management
  • 3+ years of experience in areas of air quality, stormwater, hazardous waste, industrial wastewater, spill prevention, storage tanks, environmental sampling, data analysis, and environmental reporting
  • 3+ years of experience working with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, geology, or environmental management
  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with environmental compliance and regulations
  • Environmental Permitting Experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $89,250 - $120,750
