Boeing’s Specialized US Infrastructure Organization is currently looking for an Mid-Level Windows Systems Administrator to join their team in Albuquerque, NM; El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Hazelwood, MO; Fairfax, VA; or Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on providing technical leadership and project support for strategic, enterprise-wide hosting environments primarily supporting programs within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration and good customer services as this position will focus on working directly with program customers as well as an Information Technology operations team to oversee and support operations, sustainment, and integration activities for proprietary customer programs.
 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain information systems that comply with Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide/Risk Management Framework (JSIG/RMF) security requirements
  • Utilize agile best practices and tools to organize and prioritize work
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Support day-to-day operations and maintenance activities and drive operational excellence per SLA/OLA (Service Level Agreement/Operational Level Agreement) objectives
  • Monitor and improve system performance and service management to include, but not limited to, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, operations monitoring and management, ticket generation and resolution, capacity planning and forecasting, backup and disaster recovery planning
  • Support program planning and integration activities required to qualify and onboard candidate programs into the integrated infrastructure as a service environment
  • Interact with IT Business Partners, Cybersecurity, and Program and IT management on significant technical, security, and operational matters requiring coordination between organizations
  • Provide comprehensive end-to-end computing support in closed environments from desktops to servers
  • Provide broad range of basic systems and application support, including trouble-shooting, patch management, anti-virus and auditing
  • Protect classified and proprietary information
  • Administer user system access by implementing safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements
  • Install, configure, and maintain multi-platform systems hardware, software and components
  • Perform the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations
  • Integrate security solutions into information systems
  • Evaluate and effectively communicate complex system problems and resolutions
  • Provide on-site/in-person hardware installation, cabling, and configuration
  • Identify computing requirements and confer on system needs
  • Ensure system conforms to architectural objectives

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):           

  • RMF compliant with a Security+ certificate or obtain certification within first 6 months
  • 5+ years of experience designing & implementing IT Security Systems
  • 5+ years of experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Windows Server 2016 - 2019 and Desktop Operating Systems - Windows 10
  • Current CompTIA Sec +

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Bachelors, Masters or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study)
  • 5+ years of experience administering user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet network security requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Windows Server 2016 - 2022 and Desktop Operating Systems
  • 5+ years installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting applications and software
  • Experience with using or applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines to implement or maintain compliance
  • Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects to ensure high quality delivery
  • Experience with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Server 2016-2019, Windows 10)
  • Experience with a VMware virtual network environment
  • Prior/current experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Unix / Linux (RHEL) server/workstation
  • Basic knowledge of PowerShell and Linux scripts to enable consistent, high-quality integration of hardware assets
  • Experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
  • Experience with a broad range of basic systems and application support
  • Experience evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problems and resolution
  • Experience with System Backups, Network switch configuration
  • Experience in the planning and execution of upgrades and patches for operating systems and COTS software
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies and tools

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience, 9 years related work experience, etc.)

Summary pay range: $88,400 - $119,600
