Role Summary

The Network Analyst works on a fast-paced team whose responsibilities include conducting evaluations to determine long term strategic growth plan and fleet requirements at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. The Network Analyst team makes decisions in the development, implementation, and tracking of future flights.

Key Duties

  • In the intermediate level (Professional 2), this role is responsible for developing solutions related to the 1-3 year growth plan for the airline. Activities include forecasting new markets, developing hub-specific strategies, and tracking the competitive environment.

  • In the senior level (Professional 3), this role is a subject matter airport in the airline’s capacity development and long-term growth strategy. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in the future network strategy and growth plan of the airline. 

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Intermediate Level (Professional 2)

Required

  • 2 years of experience in analytics, or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in an aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or another quantitative discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently under tight deadlines.

  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Good at multi-tasking and able to reprioritize responsibilities as priorities change.

  • Demonstrates the ability and passion to continuously look for ways to improve the Alaska Airlines network and flight schedule.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Senior Level (Professional 3)

Required

  • 4 years of experience in analytics, with a preference for a commercial aviation focus or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in an aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or another quantitative discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Expertise and experience in airline fundamentals and economics.

  • Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodology and systems.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Expert analytical skills with a deep understanding of analytical processes, including database querying tools and platforms.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work and communicate with all levels of the company, including senior executives.

  • A strategic thinker who can see “the big picture” while understanding the details.

  • A self-starter, with the ability to set priorities consistent with departmental goals and work independently.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Range

$72,600-$139,100 / year

Pay Details

Intermediate Level (Professional II):$72,600-$108,800

Senior Level (Professional III): $92,700-$139,100

Pay will be based on multiple factors,includingand not limited to relevant experience/level, level of the role and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
