Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the Andrews Support Divisions and 89th Maintenance Group Commanders focal point for managing and coordinating assigned Boeing, C-32A and C-40B aircraft logistical support programs with appropriate Headquarters, Air Mobility Command, Air Force Material Command, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contractor offices for aircraft used to transport the President, Vice President, 1st Lady, Cabinet members, and other prominent national and international dignitaries.
  • Acts as liaison between the division and designated Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) organizations on Andrews AFB.
  • Coordinates the requisition of Government-furnished items through the appropriate supply system.
  • Responsible for managing and supporting applicable Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) contracts.
  • Works closely with the Division Quality Assurance Office and FAA Liaison to maintain airworthiness of assigned aircraft.
  • Actively participates in scheduled System Safety Group (SSG) conferences, Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Corrosion Prevention Advisory Boards, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Analysis Integration Team (AIT) and Integrated Process Team (IPT) meetings with AFMC, HQ AMC, OEM and U.S Air Force personnel.
  • Will also be required to be on call during weekend and holiday periods to assist production supervisors resolve non-standard maintenance discrepancies.
  • Coordinates and provides technical assistance to the CLS Engineering Support Contractor in the preparation of material deficiency and teardown deficiency reports.
  • Supports the acquisition and modification of 89 Airlift Wing aircraft and support equipment as directed by applicable System Program Offices (SPO) and responsible USAF Major Commands.
  • Supports 8gt" Airlift Wing Plans (XP) requirements and participates in studies and tests of aircraft system upgrades and changes.
  • Coordinates Engineering Support Services between the Functional Area Chief (FAC), HQ AMC, and OCALC/WR-ALC as applicable.
  • Coordinates the removal of all required -21 equipment, passenger seats, carpets and all ancillary equipment prior to submitting an aircraft for depot maintenance.
  • Coordinates the accomplishment of aircraft acceptance inspections with Plans and Scheduling to include all required documentation and reporting.
  • Performs aircraft. inventories on aircraft transferring into Andrews AFB in accordance with AFI 21-103, AMC directives, and applicable Mission Design Series (MDS) Technical Orders and/or Commercial Maintenance Manuals (CMMs).
  • Will also coordinate one-time-flight (OTF) authorization through appropriate channels when necessary.
  • Acts as the Division point of contact for supporting depot and/or Contractor Field Teams (CFTs), that may be assigned to perform aircraft or equipment modifications and/or Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs).
  • Will also be the Division point of contact for identifying and coordinating aircraft on ground (AOG) requests through the appropriate channels to expeditiously correct non-standard aircraft discrepancies.
  • Works closely with Plans and Scheduling to ensure that applicable Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Time Compliance Technical Orders, and MAJCOM approved modifications are properly scheduled and completed.
  • Provides inputs to and coordinates on the completion and submission of AFTO Form 103 actions for applicable aircraft.
  • In conjunction with Plans and Scheduling, tracks the scheduling and completion of scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Serves as the primary depot input manager for the 89th Airlift Wing, C-32A, and C-408 aircraft Initiates and chairs logistics planning meetings to develop strategies to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of files, records, and reports within cognizance of the manager.
  • Practices good housekeeping and safety at all times.
  • Performs other duties related to the occupational field as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 12 years’ experience on 89th Airlift Wing or similar-type aircraft.
  • Thorough understanding of aircraft program management requirements, including Analysis and Integration and Integrated Process Team concepts.
  • Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to manage and integrate a diversity of programs under pressure and effectively coordinate complex issues to resolve aircraft maintenance discrepancies in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Should be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project and be capable of initiating, developing, and maintaining logistical support documents.
