Procurement Business Analyst

 

This position reports directly to the Director of Procurement at West Star Aviation. The purchasing analyst actively manages suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products to WSA facilities. The analyst will coordinate with buyers to ensure proper quantities are purchased to achieve strategic inventory and service level objectives.

 

In this role, you will provide the analytical and strategic leadership required to support decision-making for the procurement of parts and services in the aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) industry. You will manage and analyze high volumes of data, facilitating the launch several projects to support subsequent development of Long-Term Agreements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify strategic procurement opportunities
  • Manage inventory price vs. price paid to capture savings on negotiated cost reductions
  • Develop and foster relationships with select suppliers to drive consistent performance
  • Recommend purchase quantities and collaborate with buyers and managers to improve accuracy
  • Negotiate cost, lead time, minimum and economic order quantities to WSA’s benefit
  • Analyze and troubleshoot supplier invoicing and purchase order discrepancies
  • Maintain a comprehensive and current fact base on suppliers
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to guide decision-making
  • Critical analytical activities include demand analysis, supplier evaluation, and sourcing value
  • Provide analytic and strategic implementation support to both strategic and tactical procurement professionals involved in the implementation of identified strategies
  • Collect data and calculate internal and supplier KPIs by site, project, category, buyers, and suppliers
  • Present analysis of performance measurements to senior managers.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with inventory management policies, contractual requirements, or other regulations.
  • Lead/coordinate contract procurement activities
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
Skills & Knowledge
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Strong aptitude to solve problems and improve processes
  • Strong ability to negotiate, influence and resolve conflict with diplomacy and partnership
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a minimum level of supervision
