Position Summary

Tactical Air Support, Inc., is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. The maintenance and production teams support Tactical Air's fleet of fighter aircraft with over 75 years of combined experience in tactical aviation maintenance and more than 30 years of military adversary contract maintenance, modification, repair, and operations. MRO Services staff are a dedicated team comprised of experienced, A&P-certified, and tactical aircraft mechanics, technicians, and logisticians who all work towards ensuring safe and seamless operations.

Responsibilities

This position reports to the Director of Logistics and will ensure that the supply chain needs and ongoing functionality of aircraft maintenance are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Procurement Specialist will review costs, develop relationships with vendors and suppliers, evaluate suppliers to find the best deals and terms, and offer suggestions on purchasing strategies. This position will provide support to assist in the preparation and analysis of vendor contracts and will work closely with all areas of air and ground operations and accounting/finance. The successful Procurement Specialist must be familiar with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations, policies, and mandated Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety, and other applicable company program requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience specializing in a Department of Defense (DoD) aviation/material control.
  • Prior aviation logistical operations experience is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and purchasing experience to obtain the best price, quality, shipping/delivery terms, and other various factors.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel.
  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and handling of hazardous and other materials.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to correctly prioritize workload to maintain schedules, deadlines, and standards on assigned projects.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

Desired Experience/Skills

  • Purchasing/Procurement experience
  • Finance or Accounts payable experience is a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regularly ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders.

Work Authorization and Environment

  • Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support is a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
  • Pre-employment and ongoing physical certifications are required.
  • Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
  • Specific work hours are determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.

Occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime work may be required.

Salary Range: 27.00-31.00
