As a member of the operations team, you will manage the systems and processes for planning and scheduling inventory and resources, to ensure customer requirements are met and profit targets are achieved. Core Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the ERP system to plan and schedule production to consistently achieve a minimum of 95 on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with production team to ensure timely execution of production plans.
  • Update plans and schedules to meet changing demands.
  • Communicate production schedules, changes, and update effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration between sales, purchasing, engineering and operations, to identify project prioritization that will meet customer expectations.
  • Assist in the development of strategic business plans by utilizing the SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning) process.
  • Utilize available and implement new processes to proactively identify and communicate key business drivers and proposed solutions.
  • Evaluate material, resources, and machine availability in the release of WIP to production.
  • Manage inventory processes such as cycle counting, planning parameters, capacity analysis and demand planning.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential production risks, such as supply chain disruptions, equipment failures or workforce shortages.
  • Maintain ERP data integrity to facilitate efficient inventory and capacity management, and operational metrics.
  • Maintain, review, and update all monthly inputs used to calculate safety stocks and inventory targets.
  • Track and reconcile weekly/monthly metrics. Review production performance and update planning rates to accurately reflect production capability and available capacity.
  • Support other Supply Chain functions, as assigned, and maintain competency in supply chain processes and systems.
  • Performs all duties and tasks as assigned by management.
  • Adherence to the Barnes Code of Business Ethics and Conduct

Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years experience scheduling operations and managing resources and inventory in an engineer-to-order manufacturing or OEM environment.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Experience working with modern ERP systems required; knowledge of Infor preferred.
  • Able to manage ambiguity, and plan and organize time effectively, to meet known deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of production flow, inventory flow, and maintenance of documentation procedures.
  • Strong business/financial acumen preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvements.
  • Experience providing a global perspective and understanding factors that impact businesses.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Management, Business, Logistics, or related field. Work-related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
